Francine Holland (’70 M.A.), Fort Worth :: retired in August after 44 years in education to be a full-time writer and spend time with family and friends. She earned her Ph.D. from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and worked in schools, agencies and universities in Texas, Tennessee, Oregon and Alabama. She was an assistant professor at the University of Oregon and the University of Alabama-Birmingham and taught as an adjunct at the University of Texas at Dallas and Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. After serving as program director at the Education Service Center Region 4 in Houston for 11 years, she was deputy executive director at the Education Service Center Region 11 in Fort Worth for the past 14 years.
