Elizabeth “Betsy” Friauf, Plano, is a senior communications specialist at Children’s Health in Dallas and co-author of The Purifying Knife: The Troubling History of Eugenics in Texas, set to be published in June by The University of Oklahoma Press. At North Texas, she earned a bachelor’s in journalism.
