SARAH MALONE, Tampa, Florida, led the 2018 reopening of Se7en Wetlands, a 1,640-acre property that serves as a space for hiking, environmental education and wildlife viewing. As its manager, Sarah oversees daily operations and maintenance of treatment for more than 10 million gallons of wastewater each day, along with capital improvements, land and habitat management, budgeting and strategic planning, and outreach and educational programming. The space has won awards from the Tampa Bay Association of Environmental Professionals, the Florida Water Environment Association and the National Association of Environmental Professionals. Sarah’s love of the outdoors began while growing up in North Texas exploring creeks on her family’s 50 acres. Her time at UNT focused on ecology and natural resource management.
