After teaching a few years, she began her Plano career in 1963 as a third-grade teacher and was soon selected the Title I director and became the first female administrator in the Plano ISD. She served as the first elementary coordinator, secured the district’s first Head Start federal grant and initiated the first public school kindergarten program in Plano. She also served as the first female principal in the Plano ISD at the Christie Elementary School. She and her husband, retired educator Edward Isaacs, have two sons and seven grandchildren.
