Ronnell B. Townsend (M.S.), Independence, Mo. :: taught in the chemistry department of Towson State University in Towson, Md. He also worked in child care and in a nursing home in Kansas City. He has donated 19 gallons of whole blood in his lifetime and was a match for a bone marrow transplant for a patient with leukemia. He currently spends his time reading and poring through his extensive stamp collection. He is a life member of the American Topical Association and the American Philatelic Society, and he has written many articles – including one on quantum mechanics for the chemistry study unit of the ATA. He read more than 30 books for the article and later featured them at a local library with a display of stamps, which he calls “miniature works of art.”
