R. Mark Miles, Houston :: is the new system director for Professional Development and Employee Engagement for the UNT System. He has more than 20 years of experience in higher education, working as director of faculty and professional development at Lone Star College-University Park; serving as program manager for organizational development for Dallas County Community College District; and teaching speech communication at Louisiana State University. He has a master’s degree in organizational communication from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock and a doctorate in education from the University of Alabama. “It has been my dream to come back to my alma mater and work,” he says. At UNT, he was a member of NT40 and the Residence Hall Association. “I made lifelong friends in residence life while working as a Clark Hall Resident Assistant,” he adds.
