Mary Wahle Balch, Burleson :: After retiring from Everman ISD after 44 years of teaching, she now works as a district dyslexia specialist. Her duties include academic testing with students as well as consulting with campus dyslexia contacts concerning student's evaluations. She previously worked 26 years as a classroom teacher, 12 years as an instructional specialist and six years as an interventiontionist for elementary students and teachers. At North Texas, she was a member of Kappa Delta Gamma. Her favorite campus memory was going to the library for a quiet, academic environment in which to study. "The dorm wasn't the best place to study, although I had to type reports there so I could plug in my electric typewriter," she says. "It's been awhile!"
