Larry Landis, Corvallis, Oregon, retired as director of the Special Collections and Archives Research Center at Oregon State University. He held the position since 1991, and also served as assistant university archivist and university archivist. He is the author of A School for the People: A Photographic History of Oregon State University (Oregon State University Press). Prior to coming to OSU, he worked for nearly seven years as the photographs archivist for what is now the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin. While at UNT, he was a member of the NT Marching Band and Phi Alpha Theta.
