Photo of Josh Reames work "Hubris"Josh Reames, Brooklyn, New York, recently had his paintings exhibited at galerie frank elbaz, the Dallas outpost of a contemporary art gallery based in Paris. While at UNT, he was involved in the music scene and played at Haley’s and Rubber Gloves. He then worked in the design/screen printing business before attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he earned his Master of Fine Arts degree. He now works in his studio in Brooklyn with his wife Amber Renaye (’08). His works -- which often incorporate bumper-sticker slogans with abstract painting -- have been displayed in exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Spain, Italy and Mexico. “The references are always personal to me but never didactic, so the content has a fluid narrative from person to person,” he says. “I think of it as more of a proposition than a direct question. Hopefully, it inspires more questions and a sense of curiosity.”
