JOAN STADLER HYAMS SCHMITZ, West Chester, Ohio, released her memoir, Carried by a Feather, about her “teeny, tiny family” — father, mother and son — that was tragically splintered and how she rebuilt her life. In her book, she mentions her time at UNT and her membership in the Jewish Student Organization.
