Jared Williams (Ph.D.), Fort Worth, was elected to the Fort Worth City Council, representing District 6. He has worked to improve water conservation as part of the Dallas Environmental Education Initiative and worked on educational opportunities for children as part of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT). He also has been a member of the board of directors for the Tarrant Area Food Bank, DRC Housing Solutions, Beta Tau Lambda Charitable Foundation and Friends of I.M. Terrell Foundation. He also is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and Leadership ISD. He is an adjunct professor of biology at Tarrant County College. He selected Kendyll Locke, who is expected to graduate from UNT in May 2022, as his district director. Kendyll has served as the Texas delegate to the United States Senate Youth Program and is a member of the Advanced Academic Program Review Committee for Crowley ISD and the public relations committee of the Fort Worth/Tarrant County Branch of the NAACP.
