Jacqueline H. AbernathyJacqueline H. Abernathy (’12 Ph.D.), Garland :: and her husband, Jacob Abernathy, welcomed her first child, a son named Owen, in July. Owen attended the College of Health and Public Service alumni Homecoming brunch and met Linda Holloway ('78, '87 M.Ed.), former inteim dean and professor of rehabilitation and health services. Jacqueline began her tenure-track position as an assistant professor of public administration at Tarleton State University in Fort Worth. At UNT, she was a member of Eagles for Life. Her favorite campus memory occurred when she helped tear down the goalposts on Fouts Field during the 2001 season. “It was our first win in a long time at home. We were just happy! We also marched to the tower together to light it green. I remember the coach at the time offering to do a tutorial on how to tear down the goalpost ‘properly.’”
