Irv Freeman (’88 Ph.D.), Pittsburgh, Pa., whose UNT dissertation concerned accreditation, was appointed to a three-year term as a public member of the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education, the accrediting authority for professional optometry degrees, optometry technician degrees and optometric residency programs. He has previously served on three other accrediting agencies recognized by the Secretary of Education.
