Ernie Murray ('77), Lufkin :: has retired from the USDA Forest Service after 20 years of federal service. He served as the public affairs specialist for the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas and district press secretary for U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson. Prior to this, Murray worked as an editor for the Waco Tribune-Herald, The Daily Sentinel of Nacogdoches, and The Lufkin Daily News.
