Photo of Erin Pack Erin Pack (’11 M.Ed.), Salt Lake City, has written three books: The Washington Journey, a history textbook for middle school students in Washington State; Everything You Need to Know About Suicide and Self Harm, an overview about mental health issues written for young adults; and Everything You Need to Know About Alcoholism, also aimed at young adults. She is a middle school teacher and new teacher mentor at a private school in suburban Salt Lake City and freelance writer of nonfiction young adult books and articles. She also was a winner on NPR’s quiz show Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me and visited Madagascar. While at UNT, she was a member of the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance, Phi Alpha Theta and Peer Educators. She also was a voter registrar for the 2008 election. “So many people were first-time voters (including me!) and were so excited about getting to cast their ballots,” she says. “It was such a meaningful experience.”
