Photo of Cintia OrtizCintia Ortiz, Washington, D.C., is an Environmental Justice Fellow with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) in Washington, D.C., where she assists with the management of LULAC's environmental justice portfolio, including mobilizing the Latino community to enforce and drive protections for clean air, water, health and climate. While at UNT, she was active in Future Without Poverty, We Mean Green Fund Committee, Geography Student Association and Phi Sigma Pi Honor fraternity. She was a Congressional intern through the UNT NTDC Program and a transportation and land use intern at the North Central Texas Council of Governments. She also was a UNT Undergraduate Research Fellow and a Department of Geography and the Environment Student Ambassador. She worked on campus at the Sub-Antarctic Biocultural Conservation Program Office and attended an Alternative Service Break focusing on disaster relief. Her favorite campus memory is meeting Jane Goodall.
