Bobby Ray Sanders, Fort Worth :: has been inducted into the National Association of Black Journalists Hall of Fame. His career began as a courthouse reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where he was one of the first three African-American reporters to work there. He then worked as a reporter and vice president/station manager at KERA-TV from 1972 to 1986. From 1986 to 2015, he again worked for the Star-Telegram. Sanders served as president of the Press Club of Fort Worth and is a member of the Society of Profesional Journalists, the National Association of Black Journalists and the Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Black Journalists. Sanders also serves on the advisory board of Community Hospice of Texas, the AIDS Outreach Center in Fort Worth, and Goodwill industries.
