W.B. Abram

W.B. Abram (’60 M.A.), Fort Worth :: He spent 35 years as a teacher in the Fort Worth ISD, at Kirkpatrick High School from 1955 to 1971 and at Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School from 1971 until he retired. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for more than 50 years.

Kenneth Newton

Kenneth Earle Newton, Hurst :: He had worked at the American Airlines Flight Academy as a photographer and later publications supervisor. He attended North Texas from 1962 to 1965 and was a member of Delta Sigma Phi.

Gerald James

Gerald Wayne James (’65), Safety Harbor, Fla. :: He and his wife moved to Florida in 1985, where he served as singles minister at Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater. He co-owned and operated a drapery manufacturing business with his brother in Hurst for 25 years.

Michael Stewart

Michael Claiborne Stewart (’70), Fort Walton Beach, Fla. :: He spent the majority of his adult life in Denver until fishing in the Gulf of Mexico called him back to Florida. His family says he was a passionate fisherman, an excellent cook, an avid reader and a diehard Denver Broncos fan. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.

Christopher McLaughlin

Christopher McLaughlin (’91), Novato, Calif. :: A pianist, he worked with several jazz groups in San Francisco and had spent time in Florida performing in local bands and on cruise ships. He wrote two musicals, The School of Life and The Unreal Sally Stanford Live, and produced informational videos for potential piano purchasers. He also was involved in commercial real estate.

Martin Hellmann

Martin J. Hellmann (’07 M.S.), Cincinnati, Ohio :: For many years he was a member of the computer support staff of the library at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an accomplished photographer. He hiked, camped and photographed extensively throughout the western United States and had just completed his lifetime goal of visiting the Great Wall of China when he died in Beijing.

Laura Hernandez

Laura Nicole Hernandez, Arlington :: She was a freshman criminal justice major who graduated from Arlington High School in 2011. She played intramural volleyball and worked for Dallas Entourage.
