Construction workers continued making progress on UNT’s Student Recreation Center this fall, installing the center’s imposing skylight. Plans are for the building to be in operation for Fall 2003.

Greg Owens, receiving clerk in purchasing and payment services at UNT, holds his daughter, DaLayna, also known as Baby Scrappy, at the annual UNT Boo Bash Oct. 29. DaLayna’s costume of Baby Scrappy hatching from his shell won first place in the category for contestants younger than 5 years old. It took four days for her mother, DaLisa Owens, to make her costume.

Fans tore down the goalpost after the Mean Green’s 38-27 victory over New Mexico State Nov. 16. The win clinched the 2002 Sun Belt Conference championship and brought North Texas its second consecutive New Orleans Bowl invitation.
