The Giving Tree

The annual Edible Book Festival April 1 in the Rare Book Room featured entries such as Grapes of Wrath and Sconehenge Decoded, which was voted the best tasting. Voted most creative was The Giving Tree.

Internation Day Parade

International Day

UNT celebrated International Week April 7-14 with a native dress and flag processional across campus. Other events included a food fair, a badminton tournament, and cherry blossom and kite-flying festivals.

Art wear

College of Visual Arts and Design students created fashions for the annual ArtWear fashion show May 3. About 250 garments from 41 seniors were judged.

Robert B. Toulous

Toulouse portrait

Robert B. Toulouse, namesake of the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies, and his wife, Virginia, were guests on campus May 6 in honor of his 90th birthday. A portrait of the former faculty member and administrator was unveiled during the celebration.

About 3,000 students received degrees in 2008 spring commencement ceremonies. The doctoral hooding ceremony and, for the first time, a separate ceremony for master's degree candidates were May 9, and ceremonies for bachelor's candidates were May 10.
