50 Years of Progress and Opportunity, 1954-2004
In 2004, UNT will mark the 50th anniversary of its desegregation with a yearlong observance, 50 Years of Progress and Opportunity, 1954-2004. Plans include a musical gala, alumni and Homecoming gatherings, a halftime celebration at a football game, speakers, exhibitions and an issue of The North Texan featuring the subject.We are working on a web site devoted to the commemoration. At the site - which will be ready when our fall issue comes out - you'll be able to find out more about events planned, sign up for updates, share memories and photos or suggest names of people you feel should be included in the observance.
