Carrying
the torch
Georgi
Roberts (’93) of Fort Worth carried the Olympic torch along
University Drive in Fort Worth Dec. 12 in its relay across
the nation. After traveling 13,500 miles through 46 states,
the torch arrived in Salt Lake City Feb. 8 for the opening
ceremonies of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Roberto
(Bob) Enriquez's ('69) many years of volunteer work in health
and education earned him an Olympic torch. Enriquez represented
North Texas as a torchbearer for the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic
Torch Relay Dec. 12. Also, he is part of a UNT family, which
includes sons, Damon ('97) and Danté (senior), and
granddaughter, Ashley Flynn (freshman).
