Ted Acworth, one of the hosts of the History Channel's UFO Hunters, and David Diercks, facilities manager for UNT's Center for Advanced Research and Technology (pictured from left), used CART's scanning environmental microscope to study material from a purported UFO crash in the small Wise County town of Aurora in 1897. Due to a confidentiality agreement, no findings could be divulged before the episode airs this fall.

Alumni joined forces with faculty and staff to help about 3,400 students move into residence halls Aug. 17. The annual Sunday Fun Day event, which began in 1997, ensures that students and their families are warmly greeted so they can start the new semester off on the right foot.

Activities on campus the weekend before fall classes began included a step show at Kerr Beach for new and returning students. A voter registration drive was held in conjunction with the Aug. 23 show.

Carnaval 2008, presented by the Multicultural Center Sept. 17, included music, dancing, contests and booths sponsored by various student organizations providing information about the cultures of the 22 Latin American countries.
