Homecoming festivities begin early the week of Oct. 22 with a Spirit Wall decorating contest. The Shrader Pavilion is the site for the annual picnic and pep rally on Thursday. Join alumni and friends Saturday at the Mean Green Village for a day of tailgating and festivities before the game against Middle Tennessee.

Wednesday, Oct. 24

Spirit Wall Contest
Entries in the annual Spirit Wall contest will be displayed in the Onstead Plaza and Promenade and in front of each residence hall through Homecoming weekend, promoting the spirit and tradition of the Mean Green.

Thursday, Oct. 25

11 a.m.-1 p.m. — Annual Picnic and Pep Rally
The picnic and pep rally are in the Shrader Pavilion and Onstead Plaza and Promenade. The Pep Band will perform along with the UNT cheerleaders and dancers. Lunch is $4.

Friday, Oct. 26

11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. — Golden Eagles Reunion
President Gretchen M. Bataille will host a luncheon honoring the Class of 1957 in the University Union, Silver Eagle Suites. A reception follows in the Golden Eagle Suite. Tickets are $15. For information, contact Karen Selby at (940) 565-3480 or karens@unt.edu.

7 p.m. — UNT College of Music Marching Band Reunion Reception
This welcome reception is hosted by College of Music Dean James Scott and the reunion committee in the Music Building Music Commons, Room 415. Contact Laura Russell at (940) 369-8417 or lrussell@music.unt.edu.

7 p.m. — Spirit March
The traditional march begins at Fraternity Row on Maple Street and proceeds to the bonfire site at Eagle Point (adjacent to the Radisson Hotel).

8:15 p.m. — Bonfire
Join in one of UNTs oldest traditions, the lighting of the bonfire. Enjoy the fireworks and the student yell contest at Eagle Point.

Saturday, Oct. 27

8 a.m. — Intramural Sports Fun Run
Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. The run is open to everyone and starts in front of the Pohl Recreation Center at 8 a.m. Contact recreational sports at (940) 565-2275 or visit www.unt.edu/recsports.

8:30-10 a.m. — Homecoming Buffet and UNT Athletic Hall of Fame Breakfast Induction Ceremony
Everyone is encouraged to attend the breakfast buffet and induction of the 2007 Athletic Hall of Fame recipients — Christy Johnson (’01), soccer, and Jalie Mitchell (’02), Rosalyn Reades (’02) and Bennie Rutherford (’50, ’54 M.S.), basketball — in the Gateway Ballroom. 9 a.m. — UNT College of Music Marching Band Reunion and Rehearsal
This reunion honors the band directors who built the UNT Band program and their students. Bring your instrument, or if you don’t want to play, just come to see old friends in the Murchison Performing Arts Center. 9:30 a.m.-Noon — Chi Omega Open House
Husbands and children are welcome to attend the open house event at 930 S. Welch St. Refreshments will be served.

11 a.m.-2 p.m. — Floyd Graham Society
The annual luncheon and program in the University Union Silver Eagle Suites will feature Will Campbell, saxophone, and the Aces of Collegeland. Reservations, which include lunch, are $30 per person. 1 p.m. — Parade
The annual parade will start at Welch and Hickory streets, travel down Hickory, around the Denton town square, at Oak Street proceed back to Welch, turn left on Welch to Hickory (going the wrong way on Hickory through campus) and turn left on North Texas Boulevard to Highland Street.

1-5:30 p.m. — TAMS Alumni Reception
The reception will feature the Class of 2002’s fifth anniversary, the Class of 1997’s 10th anniversary and the Class of 1992’s 15th anniversary. Contact Diana Reaves at (940) 565-2437 or reaves@unt.edu.

2:30-5:30 p.m. — School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management
Alumni, students, parents and friends are invited to the SMHM tent for food, fun and games.

3-5:30 p.m. — Chemistry
Stop by the chemistry tent to visit with alumni and faculty. Demonstrations, hand-out materials and seating will be available.

4-6 p.m. — College of Business Administration Alumni Appreciation Celebration
Alumni, family and friends are invited to share UNT memories and rally together under the COBA tent. Enjoy food and drinks while visiting with COBA
