Favorite memory from freshman year: My favorite memory was in the fall semester. It had been raining for a couple of days, and I mean nonstop. I was just getting back from classes to my dorm to find everyone was pretty much just all out in the rain — as if their life depended on it or something. We were all just horsing around, and somehow, I can't explain it, we all decided, about 20 of us, to mud wrestle. It was hilarious seeing everyone covered in mud from head to foot in a matter of seconds. I took some pictures. We all cleaned up in the street, with the flowing water, because they wouldn’t allow any of us in until we were clean. The irony of it all.

Best thing about having a roommate: I swear I had the best roommate in the world. She was a very chipper person who took joy in everything, and her attitude actually rubbed off on me. It was nice knowing that if my alarm didn’t work or wake me up that she was always a dependable backup. We were always there for each other without getting on each other’s nerves.

Missed about home: I missed being able to boss my younger brothers around and basically being the queen of my domain. I’m the oldest and it’s kind of weird not having to take care of the person I’m living with. I missed my mom’s cooking and the occasional few dollars I could scrape up from my parents, but I was going to be OK without that. I just wasn’t ready for the reality check.

Favorite spot on campus: I loved the courtyards behind Bruce Hall — the vines growing all over, the grass. It was so very relaxing and comfortable.

Favorite band: I’ve been in love with Led Zeppelin since I can remember — probably because my dad loved their music so much. There’s always a song they have that I can identify with at any point in my life. They’re my security blanket of sorts.

Favorite book: I would definitely have to go with The Giver by Lois Lowry. I read it in sixth grade and have read it every year since. It teaches me that I don’t have to conform to society and that everyone has their own quirks — basically that not everyone is the same and we all have to accept that instead of trying to force some people to conform to make ourselves feel better.
