William V. ‘Will’ May

Will MayWilliam V. ‘Will’ May (M.M.), McGregor :: retired after 48 years as Baylor University professor of music education, having served as dean of the Baylor School of Music. Prior to joining Baylor, he served for 20 years as a professor and administrator in UNT’s College of Music. At UNT, he served as interim dean, associate dean and chair of the division of music education. He has been a choral conductor in junior high, high school and university settings and is past president of both the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Association of Music Schools. His articles have been widely published, and he has served on the editorial boards of several journals, including the Journal of Research in Music Education. His daughter, Karen Spalding (’96, ’07 M.Ed.), is an administrator in the Denton ISD; his son, Jeffrey May, is a residential construction manager in Austin.
