This Corner of Canaan: Essays on Texas in Honor of Randolph B. Campbell (UNT Press) is an anthology of 17 essays on Texas history written by colleagues and former students of Campbell, UNT's Lone Star Professor of Texas History and one of the leading authorities on the subject.

Rick McCaslin, history department chair, edited the book along with Donald E. Chipman, Professor Emeritus of history, and Andrew J. Torget, assistant professor of history. He says they wanted to honor Campbell, who has been a mentor and friend to them.

"It was not hard to find colleagues and former students who were eager to contribute to the project," McCaslin says.
