UNT debate students win state championship

(Photo by Michael Clements)Through their rhetorical prowess and thoughtful arguments, seniors Garrett Hammonds and Abron Hester, members of the UNT Debate Team, won the 2016 Fall Texas Intercollegiate Forensic Association Championship Tournament. Hammonds, a communication studies and political science major, and Hester, a political science major, won by arguing the opposition for the topic "The United States should make Election Day a national holiday."
