NTTV awarded two Lone Star Emmys

NTTVFor the fifth time since 2005, NTTV, UNT’s student-run television station, has been recognized for excellence by Texas’ Lone Star Emmy chapter, part of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

In the category of Best Student Production, the chapter gave awards to two UNT nominees — “Backpack Journalist,” a feature story that aired on NTTV Nightly News; and “The Republican Faceoff,” a three-hour special covering the Texas gubernatorial debate held on campus for Republican candidates.

Two other NTTV programs also were nominated — the documentary/news feature “Homecoming 2009: A Look Back” and “Taboo Topics,” a roundtable discussion of issues in religion and politics.
