Kinshuk named dean of UNT College of Information

Kinshuk, UNT's new dean of the College of InformationKinshuk, who goes by a single name, was named dean of the College of Information. He began serving in August.

He most recently served as an associate dean at Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada, where he helped lead the Faculty of Science and Technology, facilitate new graduate programs, secure external research funding, develop strategies for student recruitment, and promote senior students and alumni to serve as mentors for new students. Kinshuk also served as Industrial Research Chair in Adaptivity and Personalization in Informatics for the National Science and Engineering Council of Canada.

He received his doctoral degree in computer aided learning from De Montfort University in England, a master's in mechanical computer aided engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rajasthan in India. He also is the president and CEO of Smart Informatids Ltd.
