Lee Bebout (’02 M.A.), Tempe, Ariz. :: published his second book, Whiteness on the Border: Mapping the U.S. Racial Imagination in Brown and White (NYU Press), which examines how representations of Mexico, Mexicans and Mexican Americans have been used to foster whiteness and Americanness. He is an associate professor of English at Arizona State University in Tempe, where he received tenure in 2015. He also wrote Mythohistorical Interventions: The Chicano Movement and Its Legacies in 2011.
