UNT alumna Shamsy Roomiani makes lasting impression by creating her own ink stamps

Shamsy Roomiani ('07)Shamsy Roomiani ('07) always liked collecting ink stamps as a child. So she was mesmerized when she saw how she could carve a stamp at a relief printmaking course at UNT.

"Just to see that process in a college-level class -- I thought, 'Oh man, this is amazing. I'm in the right spot.'"

Now the marketing and printmaking alumna is bringing her printmaking skills to others with a stationery line she sells locally and online. She also conducts events for companies such as Fossil and West Elmn, in which she teaches print and paper related workshops.

"It's really satisfying," she says, "to take my design and stamp it anywhere I want to. Just ink and repeat."
