Inez Willoughby Hall

Inez Willoughby Hall, Dallas :: received the 2013 Katy and John Jackson Award for Excellence, given annually to a volunteer within the entire Texas Health Resources System. She was a medical librarian at Tulane and Emory Universities before working for Dallas ISD. After graduating with a master’s degree in liberal arts from Southern Methodist University in 1975, she began volunteering at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She worked one night a week in the surgical unit, but increased her hours after retiring in 1991 — eventually accumulating more than 10,000 hours. At age 90, she still works two mornings a week in the hospital’s medical library.
