UNT's HiLT Lab receives funding for researching tags for oil, gas documents

Funding from private partner Lease Analytics will help support the Human Intelligence and Language Technologies Lab at UNT, housed in the College of Engineering.

Researchers in natural language processing and machine learning are developing new techniques to improve machine understanding of text and spoken language -- work that will have applications in industry and government agencies interested in data analytics. Using this funding, the researchers will specifically look for new ways to tag oil and gas leases and contracts to improve classification and searches.
