Computational Linguistics Competition

For the third year, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering hosted the North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad, in which North Texas high school students used a set of rules and their analytical skills to decipher unfamiliar languages and translate them into English.

The competition serves as an introduction to computational linguistics and computer science for many high school students and is just one of the ways UNT partners with area schools to encourage an interest in higher learning, particularly in science, technology, engineering and math. As a leader in computational linguistics research, UNT is uniquely equipped to introduce students to the field.
