UNT and the Black Academy of Arts and Letters entered into a partnership that will bring even more recognition to the contributions and accomplishments of African Americans in the cultural arts, such as Sarah Vaughan, Ruby Dee and Erykah Badu.

The academy's archives, including posters, photos and recordings, will be housed in the UNT libraries' special collections, making the information publicly accessible. The partnership gives UNT faculty and students and the public opportunities for research, education and publication.
