Bill Carrico (’68), Denton :: He played football at Denton High School and North Texas before serving 36 years as a Denton ISD coach and administrator. He helped lead North Texas to the Missouri Valley Conference title in 1958 and a share of the title next year, when he was named to theWilliamson All-American team. He also helped integrate North Texas Athletics in 1956 and Denton High School's program when he coached there from 1963 to 1978. He was named to the UNT Athletic Hall of Fame and UNT's All-Century Team. He was the son of longtome chemistry professor J.L. 'Kit' Carrico ('27, '29) and Mary Lou Jones Carrico ('31, '58 M.Ed.).
