Senior media arts major Jacob Sampson aspires to be a TV comedy writer. His career is on the right track. His play The Essay won the prestigious Václav Havel Library Foundation Award and DAMU Contest for the U.S. Students of Drama and Performance Studies.
Tyler Donahue ('07, '14 M.A.) saw his first professional play, The Phantom of the Opera, 20 years ago. This year, he got the opportunity to work with that musical's legendary composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Doug Wright won the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for his 2003 play, I Am My Own Wife, about a transgender woman, and penned the musical The Little Mermaid, as well as Grey Gardens and Hands on a Hard Body.
