Moravian folk orchestra performs

A Moravian folk orchestra from the Czech Republic opened its tour of Texas Oct. 6 with a concert at UNT. The Petr Micka Cimbalom Orchestra tour was made possible by a $500,000 UNT endowment that supports the sharing of Czech music and culture throughout Texas. Legends Hall

Honors Hall ribbon cutting ceremony

Two new residence halls opened this fall. The ribbon-cutting for Legends Hall (top photo), on the northwest corner of Sycamore and Avenue D, took place during Family Weekend Oct. 13, and the opening of Honors Hall at the northeast corner of Eagle Drive and Avenue D, was celebrated at Homecoming Oct. 27. Honors Hall, which has rooms for 200 students, is reserved for students in the Honors College. Legends Hall, with rooms for 276 students, is expected to attract science students because of its location near classrooms for chemistry, environmental science and other sciences.
