Gulf Coast gala
The UNT Gulf Coast chapter of the North Texas Exes will be returning to the Piatto Ristorante in the Houston Galleria area for its fifth annual spring scholarship gala April 15.
Houston attorney Richard O. Faulk (’77) will be recognized for his support of his alma mater when he receives the 2007 Martha Turner Award of Distinction as outstanding Gulf Coast alumnus of UNT.
Faulk, who holds a bachelor of music degree in composition from North Texas and a law degree from SMU, is head of the Environmental Practice Group of the law firm Gardere Wynne Sewell. He has served as lead counsel for toxic tort, arguing some of the cases before the Supreme Court.
He and his wife, Candace, are donating $50,000 over a five-year period to support the Faulk Scholarship program in the composition division of the College of Music.
