Hannah
the goat came to campus Oct. 2 as part of the University
Union's "Goat-Around," a fund-raiser
for the annual State Employees Charitable Campaign. The goat
visited UNT faculty and staff who then made a contribution
to the SECC and sent Hannah to someone else's office.

A
ground-breaking ceremony took place Oct. 17 for Sorority
Row. The 38,000-square-foot facility at Bernard and Prairie
streets, due to open for Fall 2004, will consist of five
attached sorority houses.

Officials
celebrated the opening of the new Student Recreation Center
with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 18. Features of the new
facility, located at Chestnut and North Texas Boulevard,
include leisure and lap pools, an indoor jogging track and
a 45-foot climbing wall.

Former
Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell gave a public lecture
on Oct. 25 as part of the UNT Fine Arts Series. The lecture, "A
Political Overview," was presented in cooperation with
the UNT Distinguished Lecture Series, the UNT Model International
Organization and the North Texas Invitational Model United
Nations.

annual Boo Bash was celebrated in the University Union Oct.
29. The Halloween children's carnival includes a costume
contest, games and lots of treats.

The
Mean Green broke out the beads after clinching a third straight
Sun Belt Conference Championship and a third trip to the
New Orleans Bowl Nov. 15 at Fouts Field. The win came against
Arkansas State, 58-14.
