Leonard J. McCown
(’68 M.L.S.), Irving, retired in May after 38 years of service in Texas libraries. He has worked at the Dallas Public Library, Dallas Baptist College and the Irving ISD. He is a life member of the Texas Library Association and the American Library Association. His wife, Marge Hoyle McCown (’64, ’68 M.Ed.), retired in May 2000 from Irving ISD after 35 years of service.

Sam Curry
, Mineola, worked in Dallas television before purchasing a radio station in Mineola, which he operated until 1999. He has been appointed executive director of Texas Teenage Baseball-Softball, a statewide summer program. His wife, Joyce McClearin Curry (’68), recently retired after 20 years of teaching at Mineola, Wills Point and Alba-Golden school districts. She is active in the Pilot Club service organization and served as the Texas governor of Pilot Clubs in 2001. Two of their daughters, Heather (’97) and Amber (’00), are UNT alumnae and a third, Christa, plans to graduate in May.

Roland Ingram (’66 M.Ed.), Fort Worth, retired from Texas Christian University after 19 years as head coach of women’s tennis. He led his teams to one Southwest Conference title, two Western Athletic Conference titles and one Conference-USA title. Ingram, who finished with a 327-154 record, was honored with five Coach of the Year awards and inducted into the Texas Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame.

Thomas D. Cameron (M.A.), Bremerton, Wash., received the Puget Sound Energy Distinguished Faculty Award at Olympic College in Bremerton, where he is a professor of English. He taught for more than 20 years at Austin Community College as well as other Texas universities and schools before moving to Washington in 1998.
