Bataille's son and daughter spoke at the inauguration ceremony. The stole the president wore was designed and handcrafted by fibers major Jerilyn Fargo, who wove the dyed silk yarns with an "Eagles in Flight" pattern and hand embroidered the Eagle mascot and lamp of knowledge on the ends. Phil McGraw ('76 M.A., '79 Ph.D.) attended a private reception in the Hurley Administration Building on the night of the inauguration.
