Elizabeth Durett Stephens and William ‘Bill' Stephens ('49), Lawrence, Kan., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November 2006. Both were organ students of Helen Hewitt at North Texas and have remained active in the music field. Bill was a teaching assistant at the University of Colorado while he did graduate work there, and Elizabeth received her master's degree in organ from the University of Kansas, where she was also a teaching assistant. Bill worked for the Reuter Organ Co. and as an organ builder and technician. Elizabeth retired from the Kansas University Libraries and has been organist at Trinity Church in Lawrence for 35 years.
