Norval F. Pohl at his formal inauguration as UNT’s 13th president May 4, 2001. He assumed the presidency in October 2000.

Pohl and his wife, Barbikay, in New Orleans. The Mean Green made four straight trips to the New Orleans Bowl during Pohl’s presidency, from 2001 to 2004, as Sun Belt Conference champions.

Ground-breaking ceremonies for Sorority Row, completed in 2004, and Chestnut Hall, due to open early next year. Numerous buildings were added to campus under Pohl’s administration.
