36 years of service spanning six decades. He helped save the government
more than $40 million during that time.

Pearce ('69
M.A.), Beaumont, exhibited a one-woman show at the Brown Gallery
in Beaumont last
fall. Soul Walking featured 38 of her works, many inspired by the
Native American and Hispanic cultures of northern New Mexico.

Straubmueller,
Port Isabel, has retired as CEO and founder of the Roof Tile
and Slate Co.
in Carrollton. He now serves as a consultant to the roof tile
industry.

Richard
E. Berry,
Houston, has served as superintendent of the Cypress-Fairbanks
ISD since 1992. The district's multipurpose educational center,
set to open in 2006, is being named in his honor.

Earl
E. Hansen ('71
M.Ed.), DeKalb, Ill., is a professor at Northern Illinois University
and directs the Office of Ergonomics and Occupational
Safety. He was 2001-02 Undergraduate Teacher of the Year in NIU's
College of Engineering and Engineering Technology and is the new
president of the academics division of the American Society of
Safety Engineers.
Ron Miller,
Aledo, is director of the Learning Center for the Aledo ISD.
The center houses the district's Alternative Educational
Program classes.

Susan
Bussard ('73
M.A.), Manitou Springs, Colo., retired from the Mesquite ISD after
29 years of teaching English and Latin. She is currently teaching
Latin at the Classical Academy charter school in Colorado Springs.
