Don Bailey
(M.M.), New York, N.Y., worked with legendary opera composer Gian Carlo Menotti last spring in Scotland, creating a chronology of his works and performances and traveling with him to Italy for the Festival of Two Worlds. Bailey, a professional flutist, coordinated the chamber music series there and performed with the Juilliard School’s Attacca String Quartet. Also last year, he toured with pianist Dianne Frazer Cross. He has completed several orchestrations from his first CD, Voyage, for worldwide publication.

Margaret Barrington Litten
, Worcester, England, and her husband, Mark, are affiliated with Christian Missionary Fellowship of Indianapolis as church planters. They moved to Worcester in January 2005 to begin a new church. They have been married for 21 years and have two girls, Marisa, 13, and Melanie, 11.

Susan McGinnis
(’86 M.M.Ed.), Dallas, is the director of Fiddlers North, the only fiddle club in the Dallas ISD. It is based at Cabell Elementary and was featured on the Dallas School Zone in September in celebration of the club’s 10th year. Susan has taught at Cabell for 18 years.

Cynthia I. Gonzales
(’90 M.M.), San Marcos, completed her Ph.D. in music theory from Harvard University in 2005. She is now an assistant professor at Texas State University and performs with the Austin-based professional chorale ensemble Conspirare. The group’s first commercial CD was released in 2004 on the Clarion label and a second was recorded in October.

Rick Schmunk
, South Pasadena, Calif., is an assistant professor of pedagogical technology at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. His wife, Susan Helfter, is the director of outreach there.

Nancy James Whitlock
, Palm Harbor, Fla., has been named director of communications for the Pinellas County supervisor of elections. She served previously as media relations manager for the county’s communications department.

Gregory Dufour
(M.B.A.), Rockport, Maine, was named president of Camden National Bank and chief banking officer of its holding company, Camden National Corp. He started his career with Texas Instruments in Dallas and has been with Camden National since 2001. He is also a member of the board of the Maine Tourism Advisory Council, a trustee of the Gen. Henry Knox Museum and a director of the Osprey Club (associated with PenBay Hospital).

Kelly Helton Sanderson
, Smyrna, Ga., has been named the director of finance and facilities for Woodward Academy, an independent K-12 school of 2,888 students in Atlanta. She is a certified public accountant.

Jane Aldridge
(’86 M.S.), Austin, and her husband, John Green, welcomed their first child, James Andrew Green, in July.

Paul Vela
, Dallas, was promoted to senior producer at Mary Kay Inc., where he has worked for five years as a producer in creative services.

'87
Gayland Barksdale, Alexandria, Va., and his wife, Caroline, had their first baby, Allison Marie, in March 2005. Gayland is chief of staff for Congressman Randy Neugebauer. He worked in the current Bush administration and for Congressman Dick Armey for 11 years.

Tracy Conrad
, New Orleans, La., a physician at the Tulane University School of Medicine, safely survived Hurricane Katrina while taking care of patients at the Tulane Medical Center. He was evacuated by helicopter and has returned to New Orleans to assist with the rebuilding of the healthcare system there.

Pamela Rainville
, Fort Worth, graduated in December from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a master of arts in marriage and family counseling.

David Bailey and Evelynn Bailey (’89), San Antonio, are proud to announce the arrival of “future UNT graduate” Carly John Bailey, born in July. David works with the Baptist Health Care System and Evelynn is an account executive in the public relations division of the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Ernest Kramer (Ph.D.), Maryville, Mo., has had a new collection of piano solos accepted for publication by the Hal Leonard Corp. His previous piano works have been published by Alfred Publishing Co., Myklas Music Press, the Willis Music Co., Seesaw Press and Da Capo Ltd. He is a professor of music at Northwest Missouri State University.
