Ricky W. Griffin
, College Station, is executive associate dean of the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, where he holds the Blocker Chair in Business and is Distinguished Professor of Management. He has written or co-written more than 100 articles and conference papers and seven best-selling textbooks.

William Stark (M.S.), Clinton, Miss., a biology professor at Mississippi College, received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 15th International Plecoptera Symposium in Montana last summer. He was honored for his contributions to research on insects, particularly stoneflies, and is only the second American to receive the award from the International Association of Plecopterologists.

Melinda Richarz Bailey
, Murfreesboro, Tenn., received the Will Rogers Award for 2004 Western Song of the Year for "Paint Her Real" from the Academy of Western Artists last July in Fort Worth. The song was co-written and recorded by Donnie Blanz.

Karen Tanner-Smith ('80 M.S.), Littleton, Colo., is senior vice president of the remarketing, recovery and bankruptcy departments for CitiGroups's Auto Division. She and her husband, Mark, have two children.

Tara Henderson Forrest, Weatherford, has been elected president of the Texas State Reading Association. She is responsible for the Texas Strand of the International Reading Association's 50th annual convention, which will be held in May in San Antonio.

Deirdre de Coverley, Dallas, received a Lone Star Emmy Award nomination for "Nuevos Amigos," a series of Dallas ISD programs designed to teach English-speaking students in kindergarten through second grade to speak Spanish. She was part of the creative team nominated for the program.

Kevin R. Carreathers, Prairie View, has been named director/assistant to the provost in the Office of Diversity at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Md.
