The North Texas baseball team beat Southwestern Christian College twice in September. … Steam heat came to campus after a large boiler was installed. … Tales of ghosts in the old bell-tower of the Normal Building were featured in the Normal Journal. A student awakened by haunting cries went up to the tower with his roommate and confronted the ghost — the bell squeaking on rusty hinges and occasionally moved by the wind.

North Texas began building a photo studio darkroom and workroom for the Yucca yearbook staff. … The installation of high-mount pole lighting at Eagle Park allowed the Eagles to play their first football game at night, Oct. 17, 1930. They beat Trinity University 9-6 after trailing at the half. … The Second Grade Chat newspaper, published by students of the North Texas Demonstration School, was offered on campus with original work by the students that included comics and advertisements. … The movie Moby Dick, starring John Barrymore, played in the auditorium.

Registration — with record enrollment — caused a traffic jam at Prairie and Avenue A, forcing police to ticket an entire line of students' cars. … A newspaper report covered the pros and cons of a proposed invention combining the telephone with a television screen. ...
